Fitzmaurice voicework - towards freedom and focus

We all have an innate capacity for creative flow and a human desire to connect. Most of us come into this world empowered to breathe fully and freely and to communicate from a place of authenticity.

And then somehow, somewhere along the way, many of us to some extent become disconnected from our true impulses, perhaps shackled by convention, crippled by neurosis, perhaps enthusiasm and desire dampened by negative, unconscious or misguided influence of others, until our physical breathing may become shallow, limited, held, and our ability to communicate freely and easily thus correspondingly stifled and thwarted.

Perhaps in losing touch with our essential sense of our "true" selves as we move from unblemished childhood through (possibly torturous!) adolescence into adulthood, we may also lose touch with our true sense of purpose and focus, allowing ourselves to be unconsciously and submissively pushed and pulled through life, rather than seizing the day and consciously following our breath and body into joyful, affirmative, self-possessed action with a high level of awareness not only of ourselves but of those with whom we engage.

Fitzmaurice Voicework expressly seeks to re-connect the individual with their inner sense of freedom of expression and meaningful, purposeful focus in communication. Through an integrated mind-body-voice practice, the "free" (as opposed to limited / restricted) physical breath impulse is consciously harnessed in the service of clear, focused communication... that's "freedom and focus", for short!
